Born in southeast Missouri, I grew up in a family of four with most of my large extended family only minutes away. I moved away to attend York College of Pennsylvania in 2001 to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. Through York College and a partnership with Burke County Public Schools I completed my student teaching at Hildebran Elementary in 2004. I've been at Hildebran teaching for eight years with all of those years working with kindergarten through third grade. I completed my Masters degree program with Wilkes University last year, and received a degree in Instructional Media.
My husband, Jeff, and I live in Hickory, with our 18 month old son, Lucas. Jeff is a teacher at East Burke Middle School, and Lucas is a lovable, ever-moving, smart little man.
